For the commission of the crime indicated in the preceding article, the following penalties shall be imposed:
I.If the benefit unduly granted does not exceed the equivalent of five hundred times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating (Unidad de Medida y Actualización) at the time the crime is committed, from three months to two years of imprisonment and a fine of thirty to three hundred times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed shall be imposed;
II.If the benefit unduly granted exceeds the equivalent of five hundred times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed, but is not greater than the equivalent of two thousand times said unit, from six months to three years of imprisonment and a fine of thirty to three hundred times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed shall be imposed;
III.If the benefit unduly granted exceeds the equivalent of two thousand times, but is not greater than the equivalent of five thousand times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed, from three to five years of imprisonment and a fine of three hundred to one thousand times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed shall be imposed, and
IV.If the benefit unduly granted exceeds the equivalent of five thousand times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed, from five to twelve years of imprisonment and a fine of five hundred to three thousand times the daily value of the Unit of Measurement and Updating at the time the crime is committed shall be imposed.
Dismissal and disqualification from holding another public office, employment or commission for six months to fourteen years shall also be imposed.
