Article 369 Federal Labor Law
TITLE SEVEN. Collective Employment Relationships · CHAPTER II. Labor unions, federations and confederations
Current text · last reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 14 May 2026
The registration of the labor unions, federations and confederations may be cancelled only:
I.In case of dissolution; and
II.For ceasing to have the legal requirements.
III.A labor union shall be considered to fail to comply with its object or purpose when its leaders, agents or legal representatives incur in acts of extortion against the employers, demanding from them a payment in money or in kind to desist from a strike notice or to refrain from initiating or continuing a claim of entitlement to a collective employment contract. Consequently, this proven conduct may serve as a basis for demanding through the jurisdictional route the cancellation of the union registration, regardless of the responsibilities that may derive from the commission of such criminal conducts.
The Courts shall rule on the cancellation of its registration.
