Current text · last reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 14 May 2026

The contract-law shall produce effects as of the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), or in the official newspaper of the State, unless the convention indicates a different date.

Once the contract-law is published, its application shall be obligatory for the entire industrial branch that it covers; consequently, the collective employment contracts entered into previously shall suspend their validity, except as provided in Article 417, with the corresponding annotation being made by the Federal Center for Labor Conciliation and Registration.

When there is a contract-law in force in some industrial branch, the Federal Center for Labor Conciliation and Registration shall not process the deposit of any collective employment contract in that same industrial branch.
