TITLE FOURTEEN. Labor Procedural Law · CHAPTER VII. On Notifications
Current text · last reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 14 May 2026
The parties, in their first appearance or writing, must designate a domicile to hear and receive notifications within the place of residence of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration, or of the Local Conciliation Center or of the Court to which they go; if they do not do so, the personal notifications shall be made by bulletin or by court notices, as the case may be, in the terms provided in this Law.
Likewise, they must designate the domicile of the defendant to receive notifications, or the last place where the employee provided his services. The notification is personal and shall be processed in accordance with the provisions of article 743 of this Law.
The person who appears as an interested third party in a trial must designate a physical domicile within the place of residence of the Court to receive notifications; if he does not do so, the provisions of the final part of the first paragraph of this article shall apply. Likewise, an electronic mailbox shall be assigned to him in accordance with the provisions of this article.
The Conciliating Authority or the Court shall have a digital platform to make notifications by electronic means. For this purpose, it shall assign an electronic mailbox to the parties; those who attend the conciliation hearing and those who were notified of the summons to trial shall have the option to indicate that subsequent notifications be made by electronic means in said mailbox. In this case, regardless of the notifications that the Court must make by court notices or bulletin, all notifications, even subsequent personal ones in the conciliation or jurisdictional proceeding, shall be made to the assigned electronic mailbox, and the respective electronic acknowledgment of receipt must be obtained.
When it concerns the summons to trial and the first notification for the pre-judicial conciliation hearing, the notifications must be personal.
In the event that the parties designate interested third parties, they must indicate in their initial filing their domicile for receiving notifications.
In the case of collective conflicts, the Conciliating Authority or the Court shall make the personal notifications to the labor unions and the employers at the domiciles that they have respectively designated in the collective employment contract, which shall be considered for hearing and receiving notifications, unless another different one has been designated.
