Anyone who by themselves or through an intermediary takes possession of one or more head of cattle, without the consent of the person who may legally dispose of them, commits the crime of cattle rustling.
For the purposes of this crime, the following shall be considered cattle: the bovine, horse, donkey, mule, sheep, goat, pig species or one or more colonies of bees in an apiary; as well as that domesticated, wild, hoofed, larger cattle or smaller cattle, regardless of the typical activity of the animal.
For such crime, from two to ten years of imprisonment shall be imposed.
The slaughter of cattle without the consent of the person who may legally grant it shall be equated to the crime of cattle rustling and shall be sanctioned with the same penalty as this.
