Article 540 Federal Labor Law

The Labor Inspection has the following functions:

I.To oversee the compliance with the labor standards;

II.To facilitate technical information and advise the employees and the employers on the most effective manner of complying with the labor standards;

III.To bring to the knowledge of the authority the deficiencies and the violations of the labor standards that it observes in the companies and establishments;

IV.To carry out the studies and collect the data requested of it by the authorities and those it deems convenient to procure the harmony of the relations between employees and employers; and

V.The others conferred on it by the laws.
