TITLE FOURTEEN. Labor Procedural Law · CHAPTER XII. On Evidence · Section Three. On documentary evidence

Current text · last reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 14 May 2026

The person who signs a private document is reputed to be its author.

The subscription of a writing is understood as the placement at the foot or in the margin thereof of the handwritten signature of its author or of his fingerprint, as an expression of the will to make it his own.

The subscription provides full proof of the formulation of the document on account of the signer when it is ratified in its content and signature or fingerprint; except in the cases in which the content is not reputed to come from the author, a circumstance that must be justified with suitable evidence and that indicated in article 33 of this Law.
