In no case shall the treatment measure imposed by the criminal judge exceed the duration that corresponds to the maximum of the penalty applicable to the offense. If, once this time has concluded, the enforcement authority considers that the subject continues to need the treatment, it shall place him at the disposal of the health authorities so that they proceed in accordance with the applicable laws.
