Article 282 Federal Labor Law
TITLE SIX. Special Jobs · CHAPTER VIII. Rural Workers
Current text · last reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on 14 May 2026
Field work shall be fixed by means of a written contract, whenever a person obligates themselves before another to carry out acts, execute works or render services in the activities referred to in this Chapter, in a subordinate manner and through the payment of a wage.
The working conditions must appear in said contract, observing the provisions of article 25 and that set forth in this Chapter. Furthermore, said working conditions shall establish the mechanisms agreed to inform the field employees about the labor authorities and social services to which they may turn when the field employee considers that their rights have been impaired, in order to exercise the pertinent legal action.
All field employees must have a copy of the employment contract. The absence of the written employment contract does not deprive the field employees of the rights arising from the services rendered, and the lack of that formality shall be attributable to the employing person.
Employing persons of specialized services that intervene in the process of hiring personnel through recruitment and selection shall not be considered employing persons; that character is held by the one who benefits from the services.
